Director’s Statement:

From an early age, my Mom made a point to sit me down in front of the television every Friday night and introduce me to the films that held a special place in her heart. Through watching those films, I learned to deeply appreciate the art of cinema and storytelling and the beauty of shared viewing experiences.

To sit down with friends or loved ones, watch a film, and then discuss the film's impact has always been a sacred ritual. Were it not for my Mom patiently taking the time after each film we watched to answer my questions, be it cultural, historical, or narrative, I don't think the film would have become the therapeutic and empathy-building medium it is for me today. I hope each film I make will spark conversation and create that sacred space for the audience after each film.

While I am still early in my career, I aim to continue exploring narratives revolving around identity, transition, love, and friendship.
